I Cannot see that I could receive any better care or improvement than that which I received from Mr Fareed and the two consultants in his team. All three were patient, unhurried, informative and caring. The Royal Derby is fortunate to have them and I am grateful.

This review is to express my gratitude collectively , to say a big thankyou , to Mr.Fareed & his team, who treated me with compassion, empathy, reasurance, in a professional informative manner of which I feel was of "gold standard!" Before, During & after my laproscopic hernia surgery on the 13th April 2022. Special thanks to "Tom" (Anesthetis) who really helped tremendously to put me @ ease, before op, you were very compassionate & reasuring, also lovely Nancy in recovery who is absolutely fantastic!!. & all staff involved in theatres. Not forgetting ward 202, where I felt very well looked after by truly caring & compassionate staff thank to all!!. Constructive suggestion:- on the ward I requested pain relief @ approx 02.15 & was told " the computer system was being synchronised" therefore staff couldn't sign out drugs, I had to wait for approx 1 hr for meds, I do feel this issue needs to be rectified. I did feel the "kind & caring " pre-assesment staff , didn't have a full understanding of "theatres" when I expressed my fear of walking into the theatre surgery, of which wasn't the case @ all. Overall a "heartfelt!" Thankyou to each & everyone of you. X Kind Regards Carolyne Gregory

Khaleel repaired my incisional hernia. He used keyhole surgery after a previous open surgery did not fully repair the original weakness / unzipping of a midline incision. He was thoughtful, positive and realistic before surgery. The result was ....and is ...superb. The operation itself is a success and now onto recovery and rehab.. The proceedure was expertly completed, and although it took longer in surgery (because it was the 3rd op on the area) the outcome is excellent. He removed adhesions, repaired 3 hernias along the original incision line and placed mesh to reinforce the site. He is a very talented surgeon and the result has left me in a very strong position. 3 weeks after the operation and I am getting ready to go back to work and thinking abut physio. (after the requisite full recovery period). He is a warm and interested surgeon on an interpersonal basis who genuinely cares for his patients. I would very happily recommend him. I also felt reassured that the procedure was carried out at the Royal Derby (part of the NHS with it's resources - and not a small satellite), and happier with the notion of some of the monies returning into the Trust.

Mr Fareed was very helpful in all consultations. He explained everything fully pre-op and afterwards. I felt very safe in his hands. I was very anxious about this op but Mr Fareed put me at ease very quickly. I put all my trust in him and wasn’t disappointed. All information given was said in a manner that I fully understood
